We have had quite the eventful week. Tuesday we spent time with family at the first Parker Family reunion in my lifetime. Amazingly everyone was there and it was fun to visit and spend time together. Along with the reunion we celebrated my great aunt birthday who will be turning 98 in August! Mikaela was the first at the table for birthday cake. It was a great occassion to celebrate.
Wednesday, we headed to the MTC, to see Chase, my brother, off on his Mission. He was full of excitement and anxious to enter the MTC. We said goodbye and watched him as he headed through the missionary's only door. I am sure he'll make an excellent missionary.
Thursday, we spent time with the Campbell Family in Beaver. It was nice to relax a little and have fun with family while celebrating Pioneer day. Beaver has a large parade. It was Mikaela's first parade and at times slightly emotional for her when the candy was thrown and she wasn't quite fast enough to get any. Thankfully, she had some older cousins that were really great at sharing with her. Eventually, she finally did pick up some candy herself and was very excited. Later, Mikaela and her cousins had all sorts of fun throwing water balloons, fishing, and making ice cream in bags. It was a fun day for us. With such an eventful week Mikaela slept most of the way home.
It seemed the many events would be over for the week, but to our surprise, Dustin, my brother, called about an hour after we had been home and announced "I am engaged." We are thrilled. His new fiance, Serene, is a really cute girl and we all enjoy her. They seem to complement eachother. He has set a date for late November, four days before we are expecting our baby boy. My two girls were six and five days early, so hopefully I am not in the Hospital and can attend the wedding. I am excited for him.
Past news I forgot to blog: Mikaela has been swimming floaty free for the past couple of weeks! She is comfortable swimming the length of the pool and has no fear of jumping off the diving board floaty free. It is fun to watch her.
